Mom driver-partners and the wives of Grab and MOVE IT driver-partners gathered for a half-day of learning and self-care, participating in workshops and pampering sessions as part of the Misiskolar 2025 event.
Manila, Philippines — In alignment with its overarching mission to empower women, Grab Philippines has successfully wrapped up its month-long initiative called Misiskolar: Siskarte ni Kumare. This campaign is specifically designed to equip the wives of driver-partners, as well as female driver-partners themselves, with essential entrepreneurial skills and resources needed to flourish in today’s increasingly digital economy. Through a series of workshops, training sessions, and mentorship programs, participants are provided with valuable insights into digital marketing, financial management, and business development, enabling them to effectively launch and sustain their own ventures. This initiative not only fosters self-sufficiency but also strives to create a supportive community of female entrepreneurs within the Grab ecosystem.

Held at the vibrant SMX Convention Center Aura, the culminating event brought together a dynamic gathering of women from the Grab and MOVE IT community for a day dedicated to empowering their aspirations and celebrating their achievements. The event, aptly named Misiskolar, showcased an impressive lineup of expert-led sessions that inspired homemakers to transform their passion projects into thriving, sustainable sources of income. Participants were not only engaged in insightful discussions but also received the invaluable opportunity to register for free TESDA-accredited skills training. This training program equipped them with nationally recognized credentials, opening doors to a wider array of entrepreneurial adventures and livelihood opportunities, fostering a spirit of growth and community empowerment.

The program was prominently featured with the renowned actress and passionate advocate Jolina Magdangal, a steadfast supporter of homemakers and working mothers. She spearheaded the “Diskarte Talks” — an engaging and enlightening dialogue that delved into the intricacies of motherhood, the dynamics of marriage, and the resilience required in the business world. This event powerfully highlighted the often-underappreciated economic contributions of homemakers, many of whom are now stepping into the spotlight as innovative mompreneurs and vital contributors to their households’ financial well-being.
As part of the month-long MISISKOLAR campaign, commemorating Mother’s Day 2025, actress and wellness advocate Maxene Magalona led a rejuvenating yoga and meditation session tailored for mom driver-partners from Grab and MOVE IT. This special initiative not only promoted physical wellness but also fostered a sense of community and empowerment among these hardworking mothers.
In anticipation of the main event, Grab collaborated with the talented actress and dedicated wellness advocate, Maxene Magalona, to host an uplifting yoga and meditation session exclusively for female driver-partners. This enriching experience focused on themes of self-love, mental wellness, and the vital importance of self-care. The session not only provided a serene escape but also highlighted the platform’s unwavering commitment to holistic empowerment and the well-being of its community.
Grab Philippines Country Head Ronald Roda shares, “Behind every ride and every delivery is often a woman holding the family together, not just as a homemaker but as a dreamer, a doer, and a quiet force of resilience. Through Misiskolar, we honor the grit of our female driver-partners and the wives who support them, as well as the small but powerful revolutions taking place inside Filipino homes. These women are redefining what it means to contribute to the economy in a digital world. At Grab, we are proud to be a platform where their diskarte becomes dignity, income, and impact.”
The Misiskolar program is a long-running women empowerment initiative by Grab Philippines, dedicated to helping homemakers nurture additional income streams for their families. One testament to its impact is entrepreneur Erlita Lebosada, who launched YLE’S CAR & HOME ESSENTIALS — a business inspired by her firsthand experience as a GrabCar driver-partner and proud driver-mom.
Basta may tamang diskarte, huwag matakot magsimula. Kayang-kaya nating maging negosyante.”
